On Des*Ree

She sang “You Gotta Be,” remember?

You gotta be smart, you gotta be orange, you gotta be something or else.  Very bossy.  Hmmm.  She did sing some AWESOME songs called “Kissing You” and “Feel So High.”  Some real good love stuff.  Anyway, my favourite misadventure of Des*ree was the lyric from the song “Life.”  Keep in mind, I do like her and this song.  But, seriously?

“…I’m afraid of a ghost, it’s the sight that I fear most, I’d rather have a piece of toast, and watch the evening news…”

Toast?  You couldn’t do anything better?  Boast?  Host?  Provost?  Come on!  And my favourit-er…

“I’m afraid of the dark, especially when I’m in a park…”

Congrats Des*ree, although your poem didn’t place in the 3rd grade poetry contest, you did get honorable mention!  It’s okay though, they don’t speak the same language where you come from.  Some day those British will confirm and speak English, just like the rest of the world!  And come off those damn measurements, Metric is H-O-T-T!
